Merry Christmas everyone!

I bought a kalimba a few months ago, which is also known as a thumb piano. I hadn’t really got around to learning any pieces of music on it until now, because we have been so busy with building our house. The kalimba is a lovely instrument, originally from Africa. The notes it produces remind me of chiming bells so I thought it would be interesting to do an arrangement of Silent Night using the kalimba in the introduction and as an accompaniment.

In addition, I decided to expand the accompaniment on our ‘free piano’ and record some vocal harmonies too. I hope you enjoy this video as music as I did recording it. PS I know the thumbnail photo looks a tad scary, like I am the three ghosts of Christmas or something but I promise I won’t haunt you!
